Our History
In 2021, Ronnell Winfrey established the CHESS Foundation, a notable chess foundation NFP, in Chicago, IL, to address the pressing need for more aid and resources to support individuals and families.

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are the heart and soul of our chess foundation. We offer a wide range of meaningful opportunities for individuals and groups to get involved and truly make a difference in the lives of those we serve through our programs and events.
We welcome college students looking to fulfill community service requirements, including those working toward scholarships or financial aid programs, and we encourage participation in our chess foundations that aim to uplift communities.
In the near future, we will also launch opportunities for individuals who need to complete court-ordered or mandated community service hours, providing a supportive and impactful way to earn credit while giving back to our chess initiatives.
